Cairo: Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for pharmaceutical cooperation with Director of the Angolan Regulatory Authority for Medicines (ARMED) Dr. Mombal Maymbel. The signing ceremony was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Angola Nevin Al-Husseini and Angolan Ambassador to Egypt Makinto Lopes.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this MoU is part of the Egyptian Drug Authority's strategy to enhance international partnerships and expand into African markets. The agreement outlines various mechanisms for joint cooperation, focusing on the exchange of technical expertise, organization of specialized training programs, and capacity-building support.
The meeting also explored methods to develop regulatory systems, particularly in areas such as medical product registration, inspection, and monitoring of medicines and medical supplies. This collaboration aims to strengthen the pharmaceutical sectors of both nations, ensuring better regulation and availability of medical products in the region.
