Alexandria, Southampton Universities Collaborate for Joint Engineering Program

Alexandria: Alexandria University and the University of Southampton have signed an online cooperation agreement to launch a joint academic track for engineering students. This initiative aims to create a pathway for students to complete part of their studies locally before pursuing a master's degree at the UK university.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement aligns with international academic standards, enhancing the educational offerings available to students. Acting President of Alexandria University, Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, emphasized that the partnership is designed to provide an integrated educational experience. The program combines local and international study to boost graduates' competitiveness in the global job market.

The collaboration also supports Alexandria University's broader strategy to expand international partnerships. This includes efforts to improve education and scientific research, offering modern study pathways aligned with global developments. The program is expected to include advanced academic and research opportunities, fostering applied research collaboration between the two institutions.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to enhance employment prospects for students both locally and internationally, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the global workforce.
