Egypt’s Participation in Rabat Book Fair Boosts Soft Power

Rabat: Egypt's Ministry of Culture is taking part in the 31st Rabat International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL), held from May 1 to 10, as part of its efforts to bolster its cultural presence on both regional and global scales. Culture Minister Jehan Zaki emphasized that Egypt's involvement in the event not only supports the nation's soft power but also underscores the strong cultural ties shared with Morocco.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian pavilion, organized by the General Egyptian Book Organization, is a focal point for showcasing a wide array of publications. This participation serves as a platform for cultural exchange with Arab publishers and readers. The fair, which has France as the guest of honor and celebrates the renowned traveler Ibn Battuta, has witnessed a robust turnout at the Egyptian pavilion. The pavilion's offering of books at subsidized prices aims to attract a broad audience, further enhancing Egypt's cultural outreach and engagement.
