Cairo: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem affirmed that the electronic platform project for automating the environmental verification and authentication unit, along with the specialized conformity unit affiliated to the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), represents a pivotal step toward supporting digital transformation, facilitating trade flows, and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in global markets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister noted that the platform will provide exporters with a new, streamlined experience by simplifying procedures and leveraging modern technologies, thereby saving time and effort while improving service efficiency.

He explained that the project is being implemented in line with directives from the political leadership to advance digital transformation, modernize the state administrative apparatus, improve the efficiency of government services, and create a more business-friendly environment.

This development comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in partnership with Microsoft and implemented by Interact Technology Solutions. These remarks were made during the launch event of the electronic platform.

Hashem added that the Ministry of Industry aims to increase Egypt's non-oil exports to $99 billion by 2030 through deepening local manufacturing, expanding value-added industries, and focusing on feeder and intermediate industries to reduce reliance on imports and achieve a positive trade balance.

He further stressed that the project represents an important institutional step in developing the infrastructure supporting foreign trade by facilitating access to services for the business community, improving procedural quality, and providing accurate data to support decision-making while reducing administrative burdens.
