South africa: The Egyptian women's rhythmic gymnastics team dominated the 2026 African Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in South Africa, securing gold medals in the team all-around and multiple apparatus finals.According to State Information Service Egypt, up to 11 countries are competing in the continental event, including Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Madagascar, Morocco, Namibia, Togo, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.In statements, President of the Egyptian and African Gymnastics Federations Ehab Amin said African gymnastics, especially the rhythmic genre, is seeing a qualitative leap, affirming the African Federation's support for all African countries in hosting such events.He said Egypt's national teams are successfully following technical plans to maintain their continental leadership. The event is taking place from April 30 to May 2.
