Grand Mufti Emphasizes Role of Islamic Dawah in Human Development at Al-Azhar Conference

Cairo: Grand Mufti Nazir Mohammed Ayyad confirmed that human building represents a pivotal issue amid rapid global challenges, stating that Islamic Dawah carries the largest role in this process by returning individuals to their innate nature and qualifying them for religious and national duties.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Grand Mufti's remarks were made during his speech at the fifth international conference of the Faculty of Islamic Dawah at Al-Azhar University. The conference, held under the patronage of Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, was titled "Islamic Dawah and Human Building in a Changing World."

The Grand Mufti explained that Islamic Dawah is based on a comprehensive integration that organizes various aspects of human life to achieve balance and stability between spiritual and physical requirements. He added that the universality of Islam promotes the values of mercy and coexistence. Egyptian religious institutions, including Al-Azhar, Dar Al-Ifta, and the Ministry of Awqaf, exert integrated efforts to consolidate moderation and confront deviant thought to protect identity and security.

Ayyad stressed the importance of developing dawah discourse to keep pace with digital transformations and artificial intelligence challenges, ensuring a contemporary discourse that combines authenticity and modernity. He pointed to the Prophetic model in embodying Quranic values, stating that the modern world witnesses confused concepts and declining values, which requires rebuilding awareness on sound foundations to preserve human dignity and intellectual balance.

The Grand Mufti expressed confidence that the conference recommendations would support human building efforts and consolidate sound dawah discourse amid current changes. Faculty of Islamic Dawah Dean Ali Mansour Shehata presented the Grand Mufti with the college plaque in appreciation of his scientific and dawah efforts and his role in consolidating the moderate approach.
