Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, with Chairman of the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration Amr Ramadan. During the meeting, the foreign minister discussed the state’s efforts to curb illegal migration, pathways for regular migration, and programs to prepare the youth for external labor markets. Additionally, he emphasized enhancing cooperation with regional and international partners to develop integrated projects to combat migrant smuggling.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ramadan reviewed the features of the new national strategy to combat illegal migration (2027-2036), which is currently being developed. He also outlined the efforts and activities of the various national bodies that are members of the national coordinating committee during the first quarter of the current year.
