SIS Board Chairman Engages with Foreign Media Representatives in Egypt

Cairo: Chairman of the State Information Service Board (SIS), Ambassador Alaa Youssef, conducted a meeting with prominent representatives of the accredited foreign media in Egypt. The gathering took place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and aimed to foster dialogue and improve the media landscape in the country.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by 108 correspondents and media professionals from 83 international media organizations. This assembly served as a platform for exchanging views on the conduct of foreign media in Egypt and exploring ways to enhance the services provided to them. The goal was to ensure the transmission of an accurate and objective portrayal of Egypt's internal developments and its stance on regional and international issues.

Ambassador Alaa Youssef began the meeting by emphasizing the cooperation and communication between the SIS Press Center and foreign media representatives in Egypt. He noted that these efforts align with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to strengthen engagement with the foreign press. In this context, the SIS Chairman expressed his commitment to fostering sustainable communication channels with representatives of foreign outlets. This initiative is aimed at facilitating the flow of information and addressing their inquiries, highlighting the importance of transparency in combating misinformation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Alaa Youssef listened to suggestions from foreign media correspondents regarding the development of the current work system. He addressed the challenges they face while performing their duties in Egypt and discussed potential solutions. The emphasis was on the importance of ongoing dialogue to provide the best possible support for their mission.
