President El-Sisi and President Barrow Discuss Bilateral and Regional Cooperation

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a phone call with the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow, discussing the robust relations between the two nations. The conversation highlighted the commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's dedication to strengthening ties in trade, investment, and development. He also noted the importance of the partnership in the health sector, referencing the opening of an Egyptian medical center in Banjul in December 2025.

President Barrow expressed gratitude for the advancements in bilateral relations and reiterated The Gambia's interest in expanding cooperation to benefit both countries. The leaders agreed to continue their coordination to boost development and economic cooperation.

The discussion also included regional developments, with President El-Sisi outlining Egypt's efforts to restore stability in the Middle East. The presidents addressed the situation in West Africa and explored ways to support peace, security, and sustainable development across the continent. President Barrow acknowledged Egypt's role in promoting regional stability and expressed a desire for continued collaboration to maintain peace and security in Africa.
