PM Madbouly Conducts Unplanned Inspection of Road Upgrade Works in Sinai

Bir al-abd: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, while en route to inaugurate the Sinai National Company for Plastic Industries' factory, made an unscheduled stop to inspect the development and upgrade works on the Kabin al-Muthallath/Galbana/Balawza road. This 20 km stretch, not originally part of the planned visit route, is being enhanced under the presidential "Decent Life" initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing from the project manager concerning the upgrade and maintenance works on the El Qantara Sharq/Arish road. The project manager outlined the urgent maintenance tasks being undertaken on this route, providing details on the road surfacing, lane widening, and the overall progress of the work.

Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, the Minister of Transport, highlighted the Egyptian state's commitment to major development projects aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable growth in Sinai, in accordance with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. El-Wazir emphasized that the Ministry of Transport is advancing a comprehensive plan to develop Sinai's road network, which includes the creation of integrated developmental logistics corridors. This initiative is part of a broader vision to transform the region into a developmental hub that connects various parts of the country.

The Minister noted that enhancing the road infrastructure is crucial for attracting investment in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, and tourism. A modern road network not only opens new opportunities for investors but also supports the establishment of development projects that generate employment for the people of Sinai, thereby fostering social and economic stability. Upgrading roads also improves access to essential services, like education and healthcare, in remote areas, positively impacting citizens' living standards. Emphasis has been placed on equipping roads with modern safety measures to ensure user safety and reduce accidents.

Prime Minister Madbouly directed that efforts be intensified to complete the road works swiftly, aiming to facilitate citizens' movement and enhance safety and security on the upgraded roads.
