North sinai: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that his visit to North Sinai on Sunday, April 19, 2026, coinciding with the country's celebration of Sinai Liberation Day, aims to monitor and accelerate various development and service projects, including healthcare, drinking water, seawater desalination plants, industrial projects and other vital initiatives such as the development of Al-Arish Airport and the city's seaport.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this came during a tour Madbouly made of several development and service projects in North Sinai. He was accompanied by Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir, Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el Mashawy, North Sinai Governor Khaled Megawar, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority Walid Gamal El-Din and Deputy Health and Population Minister Amr Kandil.

Madbouly said these projects are part of the strategic development plan aimed at achieving comprehensive development in North Sinai within the framework of the national project launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The prime minister noted that the government continues its intensive efforts through relevant ministries and agencies to implement the second phase of the state's plan for comprehensive development in Sinai. This phase includes numerous projects in agriculture, industry, mining, and urban development in addition to improving infrastructure through building roads, bridges, and tunnels.

The government is also continuing to develop tourism in the region, all while focusing on human development and improving the quality of life for the people in North Sinai, Madbouly said.

Madbouly added that North Sinai is an attractive region for investment and the Egyptian government's vision for its development is for it to become a major investment destination.

The government aims to turn it into a center for urban, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and tourism activities and is committed to providing all possible incentives to encourage investment and serve the people of North Sinai, he said.

The integrated development in Sinai relies on the efforts of the local population in line with President El-Sisi's directives, he added.
