Sewilam Highlights Egypt’s Commitment to Water Sustainability at IFAT Munich

Munich: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam has emphasized Egypt's commitment to adopting the latest global technologies to achieve water sustainability and improve water-use efficiency. Sewilam's remarks underscored the country's proactive approach as he participated in IFAT Munich 2026, a prominent global trade fair focused on environmental technology, waste management, and water management.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sewilam highlighted that his participation at the event aligns with Egypt's strategic goals to promote sustainable water resource management. The minister outlined the country's efforts in expanding the treatment of agricultural drainage water and upgrading irrigation methods. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to enhance water-use efficiency, which is crucial for ensuring water and food security.

During the trade fair, Sewilam toured various pavilions and was briefed on the latest innovations in desalination, advanced water treatment, and digital solutions for water resources management. These innovations are integral components of Egypt's Water 2.0 system, which aims to modernize the country's water management framework.

IFAT Munich is recognized as one of the world's largest trade fairs specializing in water management, drinking water and wastewater treatment, waste management and recycling, as well as environmental technologies and sustainability.
