New capital: Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly attended the high-level conference marking the conclusion of the first phase of the country program between Egypt and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
According to State Information Service Egypt, upon his arrival at the conference venue in the New Capital, Madbouly met with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom. The event, co-organized by the OECD and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, included a photo opportunity for the premier with officials.
The conference's objective is to review the progress achieved during the first phase of the country program and to outline priorities for the next stage of cooperation. Participants include ministers, members of parliament and the Senate, ambassadors, heads of authorities, and representatives of regional and international organizations.
The high-level gathering focuses on three main pillars: reviewing achievements made during the implementation of the program, including strengthening institutional capacities, developing public policy frameworks, and integrating OECD standards and analysis to support Egypt's structural reform agenda; defining priorities for the next phase; and providing a strategic platform for dialogue between ministers and senior OECD officials on key reform priorities to drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The conference aims to shape the future of the partnership by discussing upcoming steps, the nature of OECD support in the next phase, and ways to deepen Egypt's engagement in the organization's committees and working frameworks.
