According to State Information Service Egypt, this meeting took place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and was attended by Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, and Alaa Salah, Head of the Automotive Unit at the Ministry of Industry. During the meeting, the Minister of Industry presented the key pillars of the program, noting that these pillars are being formulated through a participatory approach with car manufacturers.
A working group has been formed, including members of the Supreme Council for the Automotive Industry, representatives of the private sector, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Automotive Industry Unit at the Ministry of Industry. This group is tasked with reviewing all data and information related to the program's components to identify manufacturers' needs and proposals, with the aim of enhancing the program's flexibility and producing recommendations that serve the automotive sector.
Madbouly instructed the Minister of Industry to prioritize this file and ensure tangible progress. He affirmed that the government is prepared to offer exceptional incentives to any global automotive company willing to localize its manufacturing in Egypt. He noted that meetings have already been held with several companies in this field and that advanced stages of negotiations have been reached. The prime minister stressed that the current priority is to finalize negotiations and begin large-scale automotive manufacturing in Egypt.
