PM: Gov’t Prioritizes Projects Providing Production Inputs for Various Industries

Ain sokhna: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly stated that the government is prioritizing projects that provide production inputs, as part of the State's strategy to localize industry and position Egypt as a regional hub for numerous industries and logistics activities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly expressed his satisfaction with the increasing confidence of investors in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), especially given its recent success in attracting investments from various nationalities worldwide. These remarks were made on Thursday, 23/4/2026, while inaugurating Modern Hygienic International's (MHI) factory at the Orientals Industrial City (OIC) during his tour of the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone.

Chairman of SCZONE, Walid Gamal el Din, emphasized the zone's efforts to eliminate obstacles for industrial developers and investors to achieve greater integration and execute the authority's strategic vision, which aims to localize industry and logistics services across 21 sectors. He highlighted that the 'Modern' project enhances value chains and reduces production costs, addressing current economic challenges by increasing the local component, particularly in raw materials, thereby benefiting consumers and supporting exports.

During the factory tour, Mohamed Sobhi, Head of Modern Hygienic International, briefed the premier on production stages and quality testing processes. Sobhi revealed that the project's total investment cost is USD 100 million, encompassing an area of 106,400 square meters. The factory specializes in producing cardboard paper for hygienic products such as diapers, with an annual production capacity of up to 1.2 billion diapers and 4,500 tons of raw materials.

Sobhi also discussed future expansion plans, including implementing various phases of the project across the entire allocated area. This includes producing paper products, detergents, cosmetics, and paper pulp to meet local market demand for finished goods and raw materials for hygienic and sterilized paper products. He further noted the factory's advanced production lines adhering to high-quality standards and partnerships with international companies in the hygienic and paper products field.
