Sokhna: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced that Egypt is working to enhance the 'Made in Egypt' brand by focusing on producing high-quality products at competitive prices. The initiative aims to support the expansion of projects that will substitute imports, conserve foreign currency, and increase exports to both regional and international markets. Madbouly's comments were made during the inauguration of the "NEW SEFLOON" factory, which specializes in aluminum products and cookware, located at the 'Orascom Industrial Parks (OIP)' developer zone in the integrated Sokhna industrial area under the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
According to State Information Service Egypt, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the importance of these products for the tourism sector, especially as the nation works to double its hotel room capacity. He also highlighted the government's encouragement for national investors to invest in the engineering and consumer goods sectors.
SCZone Chief Executive Officer Walid Gamal el Din commented on the industrial diversity within Sokhna, ranging from heavy to medium and light industries, showcasing the zone's adaptability and attractiveness for various investment types. He pointed out that the integration between industrial zones and affiliated ports, along with free and international trade agreements, offers indirect incentives for investors. Additionally, the zone benefits from competitive advantages such as skilled labor and affordable energy.
During the visit, Madbouly was briefed by Mohamed El-Sayed, Chairman of the company, on the factory's components and its $2.5 million investment value. El-Sayed explained that the factory covers an area of 5,680 square meters, provides employment for 45 individuals, and boasts an annual production capacity of 120,000 units.
