Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh asserted that the government, led by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, places great importance on investment zones due to their positive impact on strengthening the industrial sector and enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Saleh noted that the ministry is working to provide an attractive business environment based on investor reassurance, simplified procedures, and necessary facilitation to enable expansion and strong export growth. Saleh’s remarks came during Madbouli’s inspection tour in Benha Investment Zone, accompanied by Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem and Governor of Qalyubia Hossam Abdel Fattah, along with investment zone officials and company leaders.
Saleh explained that the ministry adopts a comprehensive strategy to empower developers and investors within investment zones. The tour included visits to several advanced production lines, where company officials briefed Madbouli on future expansion plans and operational challenges. He stressed that boosting Egyptian exports and reaching global markets requires enhancing supply chain efficiency and providing advanced logistical and information infrastructure, adding that Benha Investment Zone embodies this approach, offering an integrated system of services and licensing through investor service centers.
Saleh pointed out that Benha Investment Zone is a successful model of government coordination in creating an attractive investment environment. The zone spans 46 feddans and hosts 56 projects comprising a total of 147 industrial units operating in food and agricultural industries and related sectors.
At the end of the tour, the minister praised the scale of existing investments in the zone, noting that the next phase will explore ways to support investment zones, including examining targeted incentives linked to higher export rates and deepening local content. He underscored that investment in manufacturing is the true driver of sustainable development and the creation of promising job opportunities for Egyptian youth.
