FM Reaffirms Egypt’s Firm Stance on the Palestinian Cause

Antalya: Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, participated on Saturday, April 18, in a ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the ‘Antalya Diplomacy Forum’ to discuss developments in the Palestinian cause. The meeting included prominent figures such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar; Mr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Mr. Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trkiye; and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; as well as Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of fully implementing all the requirements of the second phase of the U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan. He also stressed the necessity of ensuring the unrestricted flow of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.

Minister Abdelatty further highlighted the importance of the National Committee for the administration of the Gaza Strip beginning to carry out its duties from within Gaza, thereby strengthening its ability to manage daily affairs, as a precursor to the Palestinian Authority fully resuming its responsibilities. The Minister also underscored the need for the rapid deployment of an international stabilization force to help create a secure environment that supports the transitional phase.

Regarding developments in the West Bank, Dr. Abdelatty condemned the escalation of settler violence, the continued policies of annexation and settlement expansion in violation of international legitimacy, the Knesset’s approval of a law on the execution of prisoners, and the repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. He warned that these are dangerous developments that contribute to rising tensions and further escalation in the West Bank.

The ministers agreed on the importance of maintaining joint coordination and consultation in the coming period to support the Palestinian cause. They confirmed their commitment to ongoing collective action to bolster security and stability in the region.
