Egypt and France Discuss Strategic Development Projects

Cairo: Assistant Foreign Minister for International and Bilateral Development Cooperation, Ambassador Khaled Anis, held talks with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD), led by Regional Director for North Africa, Ms. C©cile Descours. The discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France, particularly as they approach the 20th anniversary of their partnership.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks were centered around identifying priority projects for Egypt during the current phase of cooperation. The focus was on innovative support and financing mechanisms in strategic sectors, considering the current geopolitical situation. The meeting addressed the need to accelerate programs supporting the Egyptian budget, with a particular emphasis on the development of energy, green industries, food security, and health sectors.

Decisions during the meeting were informed by the outcomes of previous discussions held between the Egyptian and French presidents during President Macron's visit to Egypt in April of the last year. Both parties expressed a commitment to continue coordination and consultation within the framework of the strategic relations between the two countries, paving the way for the next round of strategic dialogue.
