Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shenawy stated that the President welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, acknowledging efforts to enhance the authority of state institutions and restore stability. Sisi emphasized Egypt’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and protecting it from regional crises, while condemning any attacks on Lebanese security and sovereignty.

According to State Information Service Egypt, President Aoun expressed gratitude for Egypt’s unwavering support, thanking President Sisi for his assistance. Aoun discussed the progress in US-mediated direct negotiations, affirming Lebanon’s dedication to achieving a fair and sustainable settlement that upholds the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The spokesman noted that both presidents agreed to enhance communication and coordination between Egypt and Lebanon in the future.
