New york: The Consulate General of Egypt in New York received a collection of rare antiquities that had been illegally smuggled out of Egypt. This event is part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to repatriate cultural antiquities and aligns with the political leadership’s directives to prioritize the return of Egyptian artifacts to their homeland.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this achievement is a result of international cooperation and close coordination between the Consulate General in New York and the Antiquities Trafficking Unit of the New York Attorney General’s Office, with support from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The collaboration underscores the joint efforts between Egypt and the United States to combat the illicit trafficking of antiquities and recover Egyptian artifacts that were illegally exported.
