Yokohama: During his participation, on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, at the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, "TICAD 9," hosted in Yokohama, Japan, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen. This was between the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Industrial and Labour Affairs Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in the presence of Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo. According to State Information Service Egypt, the memorandum was signed by Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Head of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, and Mr. Shin-Ichiro Tanaka, Director-General of the Industrial and Labour Affairs Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The Prime Minister affirmed that this cooperation with Japan as a developmental partner is of great importan ce to the Egyptian state, in light of the utmost priority given to the new and renewable energy sector, as Egypt aims to be a regional and global leader in the production and export of green hydrogen, in line with international trends in this regard. The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of green hydrogen from an environmental and economic perspective, through the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and relevant information, working to stimulate market demand and support its various applications, alongside exchanging visits and strengthening and developing cooperative relations between the two parties in this field.
