Prime Minister Meets Chairperson of African Union Commission on Sidelines of TICAD 9

Yokohama: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, met today with Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on the sidelines of his participation, on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, "TICAD 9," which is being hosted in Yokohama, Japan.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, and Ambassador Mohamed Gad, Egypt's Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union. The spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, Counselor Mohamed Al-Hamsani, stated that the meeting addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Egypt and the African Union, as well as exchanging views regarding the overall political and security developments on the African continent.

The official spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office added that this meeting reaffirms the depth of the partnership between Egypt and the African Union, and Egypt's commitment to supporting the institutions of joint African action in various fields, in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of African peoples towards a more stable and prosperous future.

Furthermore, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly extended his congratulations to the Chairperson of the Commission on assuming his position, affirming Egypt's support for him in achieving the goals that African countries aspire to in terms of security, stability, and development.
