Cairo: The Ministry of Health and Population issued a set of important tips and guidelines for citizens to prevent heat exhaustion, coinciding with rising temperatures. The Ministry emphasized the importance of following preventive measures to avoid health complications resulting from direct exposure to extreme heat.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry explained that preventing heat exhaustion begins with following some simple steps, including: wearing loose, light clothing that allows the body to breathe well, and ensuring adequate hydration by drinking sufficient amounts of water and fluids throughout the day.
The Ministry of Health also stressed the need to avoid strenuous physical activity during peak hours and the hottest times of the day, especially for the elderly, children, and those with chronic illnesses, to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion or heatstroke.
The Ministry affirmed that adhering to these health instructions and guidelines contributes to maintaining public health and reducing the negative effects of heat waves during the summer season.
