Minister of Military Production: Egypt to Harness AI for Advanced Weaponry and Set Up Dedicated Tech Hub

Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Jumblatt affirmed that military production companies are developing their military industries and working to create advanced defense products that meet the demands of the Armed Forces.According to State Information Service Egypt, Jumblatt noted that the ministry gives considerable attention to employing artificial intelligence applications to develop the various weapons, ammunition, and equipment produced by its affiliated companies, which will enhance its competitiveness in this field. The minister added that this step will help keep pace with the rapid global developments in the field of military manufacturing.In statements to the Middle East News Agency, the Minister of State for Military Production said that the ministry is working on establishing an artificial intelligence unit within Tuya Technology Company, affiliated with the ministry. This unit aims to develop information systems, analyze data, manage digital platforms and websites, and support industrial operations.Jumblatt affirmed the ministry's full commitment to implementing the political leadership's directives to increase the rate of local manufacturing and establish strategic partnerships with major international companies specializing in this field. This will contribute to the localization of modern technologies, as well as investment in human resources within the military production sector and adherence to quality and industrial safety standards.Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Jumblatt also highlighted the pursuit of strategic partnerships with the private sector to achieve an industrial leap forward, in addition to expanding training and qualification programs in collaboration with universities, research centers, and specialized academies.
