Ex-FM: Egypt Engages Intensively with Global Powers to Halt Gaza Conflict

Cairo: Chairman of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Orabi, stated that Egypt is actively engaging with regional and international powers to halt the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. This initiative aims to prevent further repercussions on the security and stability of the region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Orabi made these remarks during a meeting with a Policy Advisor from the Middle East Department at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The discussion focused on developments in the Gaza Strip, regional implications of the conflict, and recent security and political shifts in the area.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza were a central topic, alongside discussions on mitigating the escalating humanitarian crisis in the enclave. Both parties explored means to enhance international and regional cooperation to establish safe humanitarian corridors for aid delivery, aiming to restore calm and pave the way for resuming political dialogue.

The Policy Advisor from the FCDO emphasized that the United Kingdom is closely monitoring the situation in Gaza and supports international efforts toward achieving a ceasefire and reducing humanitarian suffering. She reiterated the UK's commitment to collaborating with regional partners to foster stability in the Middle East.

This meeting occurs amid increased political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the current crisis, as concerns grow about the potential expansion of the conflict and its implications for regional and international security.
