Antalya: Ministers from Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia convened in Antalya for a quadrilateral meeting to discuss the ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations and the latest regional developments.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting included Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, marks the third within the framework of the quadrilateral mechanism, following previous meetings in Riyadh and Islamabad.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf stated that the ministers focused on enhancing joint coordination amid evolving regional developments, following up on U.S.-Iran negotiations, and efforts to de-escalate regional tensions. The discussions also addressed the future of the regional order pos
t-conflict, emphasizing the need for calm, security, and stability.
Badr Abdelatty highlighted the importance of intensified joint coordination given the sensitive regional circumstances and welcomed the outcomes of the first senior officials’ meeting of the quadrilateral mechanism in Islamabad, viewing it as a positive step toward strengthening cooperation among the four nations.
The ministers also exchanged views on the severe economic repercussions of the ongoing conflict, discussing impacts on international shipping, supply chains, food security, energy security, and oil prices. They explored strategies to mitigate these effects on the global economy.
Concluding the meeting, the ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and consultations in the future, aiming for successful U.S.-Iran negotiations that contribute to de-escalation and the restoration of regional stability.
