Egypt and US Engage in Talks Over US-Iranian Negotiation Developments

Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, engaged in discussions with the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Mr. Steve Wittkopf, regarding the latest progress in the US-Iranian negotiations. This conversation, held over a phone call, focused on the implications of the revised Iranian proposal. According to State Information Service Egypt, both parties exchanged perspectives on recent regional developments. Minister Abdelatty highlighted the significance of intensifying efforts to support the US-Iranian negotiations, aiming to achieve a political settlement and avoid the threat of conflict. Abdelatty underscored the importance of adhering to the negotiating approach and persisting in efforts to achieve understandings among the concerned parties. This would ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire, end hostilities, and diminish regional tensions. The US Special Envoy to the Middle East praised Egypt's role in backing efforts to de- escalate regional tensions and expressed his commitment to maintaining coordination and consultation in the near future.
