Cairo: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy recently welcomed a high-level delegation from HONOR, a prominent global producer of smartphones and smart devices. The delegation was led by Ingmar Wang, President of HONOR for the Middle East and Africa region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, discussions focused on HONOR’s plans to enhance its mobile phone manufacturing operations in Egypt, specifically through its facility in 10th of Ramadan City, in collaboration with Etisalat Import and Export. The initiative is part of HONOR’s broader strategy to position Egypt as a central hub for its operations across the Middle East and Africa.
HONOR aims to produce high-quality devices at competitive prices to cater to the local market while boosting export opportunities to nearby regions under the “Made in Egypt” brand. The discussions also explored ways to upgrade existing production lines, ensuring the transfer of advanced global manufacturing technologies to Egyptian workers and supporting the development of local skills to match the swift evolution in the smartphone industry.
