Cairo: State places great importance on SCZONE to lure foreign investments. Governor Akram Mohamed Galal affirmed that under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's leadership, Egypt has prioritized the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) as a key driver for attracting foreign investments and as a foundational element in building a robust national economy. The implementation of major projects in various industrial and logistical sectors, alongside creating job opportunities and integrated industrial communities, aims to improve living standards, he added.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the governor's remarks were made during a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, where new developmental and industrial projects in the Qantara West Industrial Zone were inaugurated. The governor emphasized that the premier's attendance supports the development efforts in the governorate and reaffirms the state's commitment to bolstering investment, economy, and industry in Ismailia.
The governor expressed gratitude to factory owners and investors for their confidence in the Egyptian economy, which has been strengthened by investment regulations attracting both local and foreign investments. He also acknowledged the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone's efforts and global promotional tours, which have drawn significant investments in sectors like the textile and apparel industry, making the zone a textile manufacturing hub in Egypt.
Governor Galal highlighted that the current developments reflect the Egyptian state's focus on industry under President Sisi's leadership, prioritizing support for the private sector and investors.
Waleed Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, welcomed attendees to Qantara West, describing it as the focal point of this year's inaugurations and a new phase in the SCZONE's journey toward success. He detailed the transformation of Qantara West from planning to a major regional industrial platform, aligning with the Egyptian state's vision.
El-Dien also discussed future development plans for the zone and the significant foreign investments attracted, showcasing the authority's commitment to achieving the state's economic ambitions.
