Sisi Lauds Int’l Recognitions of Palestinian State, Hails Trump’s Efforts to End Gaza War

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi commended successive international recognitions of a Palestinian state and hailed the efforts made by US President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip. President Sisi made the remarks during his visit to the Egyptian Military Academy within the Strategic Command in the New Administrative Capital on Friday, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy. The spokesman added that the president began the visit by performing the Fajr prayer with the academy's cadets and followed up on their training activities. The spokesman stated that the president spoke to the academy's cadets about regional developments and domestic affairs.According to State Information Service Egypt, President Sisi expressed pride in the seriousness and commitment he observed among the academy's cadets, stressing the purpose of his frequent visits to the academy is to check on the cadets' well-being and to follow up on the educational programs that aim to sharpen their skills and contribute to preparing distinguished national cadres serving state institutions. With regard to building the Egyptian personality, the president noted the establishment of the Armed Forces College of Medicine (AFCM) came in response to the aspirations of Egypt's young men and women. He also called on community platforms, notably the media, mosques, and churches, to play their part in driving the desired change and impact.On the domestic affair, the president lauded the economic and security situation, while pointing out that regional challenges have resulted in a loss of around USD 9 billion in Suez Canal revenues over the past two years. He urged for studying the experiences of countries that had faced difficult circumstances and overcome them through will, perseverance, and hard work, in order to achieve development. President Sisi praised the awareness and resilience of the Egyptian people, which were evident in their response to current challenges. He stressed the region is at a critical juncture, which requires sound judgment and careful consideration, as any miscalculation could lead to the unknown. The president highlighted the strength and consciousness of Egyptians, which have been reinforced since 2011 despite plots and conspiracies that came at a heavy cost.Turning to the latest updates in the Gaza Strip, the president reaffirmed Egypt's strong commitment to stopping the war, contributing to the reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave, and delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians, while safeguarding Egyptian lives. He also referred to the recent attacks on Egyptian embassies abroad, attributing some to ignorance and some others to malicious intent by hostile actors, emphasizing Egypt does not conspire against anyone.
