Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Tunisian Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani at Al-Ittihadiya Palace. The meeting underscored the strong ties between Egypt and Tunisia, focusing on strengthening cooperation in various sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, President El-Sisi extended his greetings to Tunisian President Kais Saied, acknowledging his efforts in advancing reform and economic initiatives in Tunisia. The discussions aimed at enhancing the already robust relations between the two nations on both official and popular fronts.
The dialogue highlighted the significance of the 18th session of the Joint Higher Committee, currently taking place in Cairo, as a vital platform for expanding collaboration, particularly in trade and investment. This initiative aims to benefit both countries by fostering their mutual interests.
Regional and international issues were also on the agenda, with both leaders stressing the importance of heightened coordination to address regional challenges and crises. They agreed on the necessity of encouraging private sector partnerships to develop joint projects in Africa, thereby reinforcing their regional influence.
Additionally, the Tunisian prime minister conveyed President Saied's anticipation of President El-Sisi's official visit to Tunisia. In return, President El-Sisi reiterated his invitation for President Saied to attend the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025.
