President El-Sisi and Amir of Kuwait Condemn Israeli Attack on Qatar

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a telephone conversation with the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, discussing recent regional developments, particularly the Israeli assault on Qatar.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the leaders expressed strong condemnation of the attack, labeling it a violation of international law and the UN Charter and an encroachment on Qatar's sovereignty. They voiced their solidarity with Qatar, supporting its efforts to ensure security and stability, especially considering its mediation efforts alongside Egypt to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and address the humanitarian crisis resulting from the conflict.

The discussions also covered the situation in Gaza, with both leaders emphasizing the urgency for a ceasefire and the necessity of humanitarian aid access to the region. They condemned the military escalation by Israel and rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians or make Gaza uninhabitable.

El-Sisi and Sheikh Meshal called for international intervention to curb Israeli actions, reduce regional tensions, and initiate a political process aimed at the two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital. They agreed to maintain coordination on regional and international issues to reinforce the strong ties between Egypt and Kuwait.
