Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, with Prime Minister-elect of Hungary P©ter Magyar. Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the President congratulated Mr. Magyar on his party's victory in securing a majority of seats in the Hungarian Parliament during the legislative elections held on April 12, 2026. President El-Sisi praised the democratic atmosphere in which the electoral process took place.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the President also emphasized Egypt's pride in its bilateral relations with Hungary and the significant momentum these ties have gained over recent years, particularly following the elevation of relations to the level of a Strategic Partnership in February 2023. President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness to work with the new Hungarian government, upon its formation, to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and political consultation.
Prime Minister-elect Magyar expressed his gratitude and appreciation for President El-Sisi's congratulations. He affirmed his commitment to collaborating with the President to bolster Egyptian-Hungarian relations across all fields, and to intensify political coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest. He further lauded Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the Middle East and the Southern Mediterranean.
