Rafah: The 181st 'Zad Al-Ezza. From Egypt to Gaza' convoy began entering the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, via Rafah Border Crossing heading toward Karem Abu Salem Crossing in preparation for delivery into the enclave. The move comes as part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians in Gaza.
According to State Information Service Egypt, an official source stated that the convoy trucks are carrying large quantities of humanitarian and relief supplies, including food aid and basic commodities such as flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned goods, medicines, personal care items, tents, clothing, winter supplies, and fuel.
The source highlighted that Israeli forces had closed crossings connecting Gaza on March 2, 2025, following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach a deal to sustain it. The truce was later breached by intensive airstrikes on March 18, 2025, alongside renewed ground incursions into various parts of Gaza from which forces had previously withdrawn.
The aid convoy is a significant part of Egypt's humanitarian outreach to the region, aiming to provide vital support and supplies to the affected population in Gaza, amidst the ongoing challenges and heightened tensions.
