PM: Political Leadership Continues Efforts to Stabilize Region, End Conflicts

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, affirmed that the political leadership, represented by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has exerted and continues to exert significant efforts to achieve regional stability and end conflicts both regionally and globally. Addressing members of the Egyptian House of Representatives during Tuesday's plenary session chaired by Counselor Hesham Badawy, Madbouly said that Egyptian diplomacy is working closely with partners to de-escalate tensions and bring wars and conflicts to an end.According to State Information Service Egypt, in his statement on the government's economic measures to address the repercussions of the global economic crisis, Madbouly noted that global events have impacted all countries. He explained that his appearance before parliament aimed to outline the steps taken by the government to mitigate the effects of ongoing conflicts and wars, most recently the Israeli-American-Iranian war.Madbouly added that Egypt's political lea dership and diplomatic apparatus firmly believe in resolving conflicts through diplomatic means, stressing that the continuation of wars poses a serious threat to security and stability in the region and the world. He stated that the region has recently witnessed a new war in its surrounding area, in addition to a series of conflicts that have had a strong global impact.He emphasized that these conflicts and wars have clearly affected the economic situation, with the US-Iranian war coinciding with severe attacks on Arab countries and violations of the sovereignty of these countries. This has led to new developments that require addressing the crisis and expanding cooperation with partners.In his statement on the economic measures and actions taken by the government to address the consequences of the global economic crisis, Madbouly noted that the government acted from the very first moment to confront the challenges arising from this war. He confirmed that the government is treating this crisis as an ongo ing one, revealing that the government understands that even if the war formally ends, its economic effects are likely to persist until the end of this year.The Prime Minister further disclosed that the government is preparing scenarios for dealing with possible escalation or the end of the war, ensuring the protection of citizens' interests. He pointed out that the steps taken by the government have received international praise, especially from the International Monetary Fund. He added that Egypt has become a model for handling external shocks.He noted that Egypt has gone through these regional and international conditions with a strong resilient economy, and all international rating institutions have reaffirmed Egypt's rating, confirming that the Egyptian state has taken very good measures to handle the crisis. Madbouly also stated that the government is working diligently to serve the beloved nation, describing it as a great honor, and expressed hope for a more stable future both globally and regional ly.He mentioned that the government is open to listening to all the opinions and suggestions of the members of parliament. He emphasized the full coordination between the House of Representatives and the government, and the government's commitment to presenting its steps periodically to the council in response to the various oversight tools, stressing that "we are all working to serve the nation."
