President El-Sisi and Dutch Prime Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues

Rome: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, where they discussed various aspects of the bilateral relationship and regional issues.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the call focused on strengthening and developing relations in trade, investment, agriculture, water resource management, financial services, and energy. The leaders also explored ways to enhance cooperation on migration, with the Dutch prime minister commending Egypt's efforts in combating illegal immigration and highlighting the ongoing coordination between the two countries.

The conversation further covered cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, with the Dutch prime minister acknowledging Egypt's role and expertise in these areas. Additionally, the leaders discussed the regional situation, with President El-Sisi outlining Egypt's efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and facilitate humanitarian aid. He also emphasized the importance of securing the release of hostages and captives and creating conditions conducive to resuming the political process aimed at the two-state solution.

The Dutch prime minister expressed appreciation for Egypt's efforts in securing a ceasefire, releasing hostages, and providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's stance against the displacement of Palestinians and stressed the urgency of Gaza's reconstruction post-ceasefire. He also underscored the importance of respecting international law and protecting diplomatic missions, a point affirmed by the Dutch prime minister.
