PM: State Attaches Great Importance to Developing Health Sector

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli emphasized the state's commitment to developing the health sector on Monday, September 15, 2025, stating it is crucial for building a stable society capable of achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.According to State Information Service Egypt, the prime minister highlighted the necessity of boosting private investments in healthcare services. This initiative comes in light of new laws, regulations, and measures introduced by the government to stimulate investment in promising sectors, including health. Madbouli's remarks were made during a meeting with Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, and CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba. The meeting focused on exploring investment opportunities in the health sector that can be offered to private investors.The health minister, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, stated that the government is actively working to provide a range of inv estment incentives aimed at establishing significant partnerships in the healthcare field. He mentioned that the Health and Population Ministry, in collaboration with GAFI, has prepared a comprehensive package of investment incentives specifically for the health sector. These incentives are intended to attract private sector involvement in the construction and operation of hospitals across several governorates, ultimately improving the investment climate in the healthcare area.Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk added that the government is keen on strengthening international partnerships with various institutions to support the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS). He emphasized that ensuring the financial sustainability of the health sector is essential for expanding healthcare services to all citizens.
