PM Follows Up on Investment Projects of New Administrative Capital

Cairo: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli said the government attaches great importance to monitoring the activities of the Administrative Capital For Urban Development (ACUD) Company and the projects and investments it undertakes, as part of the company's efforts and role in developing and managing the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to become a fully integrated model of smart, green and sustainable cities. In a meeting held Tuesday the prime minister reviewed work files related to the ACUD. Minister of finance Ahmed Kouchouk and ACUD Chairman Khaled Abbas took part in the meeting.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting included a review of recent updates regarding the company's activities, particularly its projects and services. Notably, these include developments in the Diplomatic District, which features advanced infrastructure and services tailored to the needs of diplomatic missions. This district is considered one of the largest projects the company is investing in during the first phase of the NAC.

The meeting also included discussions on the objectives, plans, and mechanisms of the ACUD for long-term urban and spatial planning, and for enhancing the city's sustainability, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030. In this context, the ACUD chairman highlighted several activities reflecting the company's commitment to achieving sustainable urban development.

Abbas also highlighted cooperation with various countries and their interest in adopting the NAC model. This includes the visit of the deputy prime minister and minister of planning of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to explore opportunities for collaboration in creating a new urban extension of the capital, Kinshasa. He described the NAC as a pioneering continental project reflecting Egypt's leadership in urban planning and stressed his country's eagerness to benefit from this leading experience.

During his official visit to Madagascar at the end of June, Abbas noted that it was agreed to form a joint committee to activate technical cooperation, transfer Egyptian expertise, and oversee the implementation of a new administrative capital there. He also pointed to other opportunities for international cooperation in areas such as sustainable development, green building, and enhancing environmental sustainability practices.

Abbas also reviewed the entertainment and educational projects, as well as artistic and sports activities taking place in the NAC, all of which support the vision and developmental goals of the project.
