Cairo: Egyptian-Qatari relations have witnessed significant progress in recent months across political, economic, and investment fields, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed Thursday. Meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Madbouli stressed the importance of advancing joint cooperation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during their talks, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Madbouli highlighted the need to build on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Doha in April, which underscored Qatar's keenness to support economic partnership with Egypt.

He also stressed the government's commitment to facilitating Qatari investments and strengthening direct engagement with Qatar's business community. For his part, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his pleasure at the warm welcome and reaffirmed Qatar's determination to broaden cooperation with Egypt, particularly in joint investment projects.

Both sides underlined the importance of convening the Egyptian-Qatari Higher Committee as a key step toward ushering in a new phase of comprehensive political, economic, and trade cooperation. On regional issues, the two officials reiterated their countries' joint efforts, in coordination with the United States, to reach an agreement ensuring an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid, while firmly rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land.
