Ministry of Civil Aviation Bolsters Safety with Co-operation Protocol

Cairo: Minister of Civil Aviation Dr Sameh el-Hefny presided over the signing of a Co-operation Protocol aimed at significantly enhancing aviation safety across the Egyptian civil aviation sector. The agreement formalises and strengthens the working relationship between the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) and the Central Department of Aviation Accidents. The protocol was officially signed at the Ministry's headquarters by Pilot Amr el-Sharkawy, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, and Pilot Ramy Mansour, Head of the Central Department of Aviation Accidents. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of senior leaders from the Ministry and its affiliated entities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the primary objective of this agreement is to enhance institutional coordination and integration between the two bodies. It focuses on several critical areas of civil aviation safety, including the exchange of expertise and technical information. This strengthened co-operation is designed to achieve the highest possible levels of aviation safety, reinforcing Egypt's adherence to the requirements of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago 1944) and the stringent standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). El-Hefny underscored the strategic importance of this initiative, stating, 'Enhancing aviation safety is a national and strategic priority for the Egyptian government.'
