Cairo: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour asserted the depth of cooperation and friendship between Egypt and France across various mutual fields, particularly higher education and scientific research. He noted that these relations have witnessed significant momentum recently through numerous joint events and scientific forums, culminating in the signing of several cooperation agreements. According to State Information Service Egypt, this statement came during Ashour's meeting with French Ambassador in Cairo Éric Chevallier. The meeting was attended by the President of the French University in Egypt, Mohamed Roshdy, along with senior officials from the ministry, the Université Française d'Égypte (UFE), and the French Development Agency. The purpose was to review the latest developments regarding the construction of the university's new campus. The minister highlighted that the French University in Egypt project enjoys comprehensive support from the Egyptian state and is envisio ned to become a leading academic and research institution, representing a new generation of smart universities. Ashour emphasized Egypt's commitment to executing the project in a manner that reflects the strength of bilateral relations. He pointed out the strong interest and backing the initiative receives from the political leadership in both countries, describing the project as an exemplary model of international academic cooperation between Egypt and France. During the meeting, the progress of construction work at the new campus was reviewed along with a detailed report on implementation rates. Both parties discussed mechanisms for further supporting the project, which aims to transform the university into a pioneering academic and research institution that embraces the smart university model. The campus will offer an advanced learning environment based on the latest digital and technological systems. For his part, Chevallier lauded Egypt's efforts in advancing the higher education and scientific researc h system. He reaffirmed France's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Egypt, especially through the French University, which serves as a bridge for knowledge exchange and the transfer of the French educational experience to the African continent. He also emphasized France's eagerness to see the successful completion of the new campus and to provide the necessary support, noting the university's focus on modern interdisciplinary programs that meet the demands of both regional and international labor markets.
