FM Reaffirms Egypt’s Readiness for Economic Cooperation with Algeria

New york: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. They discussed ways of strengthening relations between Egypt and Algeria and coordinating on shared regional priorities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers agreed to move forward with plans to hold the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee in Cairo. Both sides supported expanding cooperation in infrastructure, development, and the exchange of technical expertise. Abdelatty asserted that Egyptian companies are ready to take part in development projects in Algeria.

On regional issues, Abdelatty condemned the military operations in Gaza and the West Bank. He called for an immediate and complete halt to hostilities and stressed the need for uninterrupted humanitarian access while reaffirming support for the Palestinian people's rights. Additionally, the ministers reviewed the situation in Libya. Abdelatty underscored the importance of a Libyan-led political solution and the need to hold presidential and parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity. He also called for the withdrawal of all foreign forces and fighters from Libya to support national stability.
