Dakar: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty lauded the patriotic role played by the Egyptian community in Senegal in strengthening ties between the two countries and their contributions to the Senegalese society and the development of Senegal. Abdelatty made the comments during his meeting on Friday, 25/7/2025, with members of the Egyptian community in Dakar, as part of his visit to Senegal. According to State Information Service Egypt, the top Egyptian diplomat highlighted his ministry's strenuous efforts to advance the digital transformation process and develop consular services offered to Egyptians abroad. He emphasized that the Foreign Ministry is working to modernize the technological infrastructure at Egyptian embassies and consulates to enhance service quality. Abdelatty cited the launch of a new mechanism aimed at speeding up the issuance of digital birth certificates for the first time. He also pointed to the signing of a cooperation protocol with Egypt Po st to provide authentication services for citizens across the country, particularly in remote and neediest areas, to ease the burden on authentication offices and simplify procedures for citizens. Minister Abdelatty also touched on several initiatives launched by the government to support Egyptians living abroad and strengthen their connection to their homeland, such as a zero-customs car import initiative, a recruitment settlement initiative, and 'Your Home in Egypt' initiative. These initiatives are meant to facilitate investment procedures for Egyptian expats and encourage their contribution to major national projects. The minister also reviewed ongoing preparations for the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, which will be held under the slogan "From Everywhere...Egypt is the Destination," on August 3-4 in New Cairo.
