Finance Minister: Digitalization Key to Luring New Taxpayers

Washington: Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk emphasized that simplifying and digitizing procedures helps reduce costs associated with voluntary compliance while attracting new taxpayers.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk highlighted the importance of using technological solutions to enhance the quality of tax services and safeguard the rights of partners. He shared these insights during a session titled "digital transformation in tax administration," part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) meetings in Washington.

Kouchouk pointed out that electronic tax systems have facilitated procedures for taxpayers and expanded the tax base. He noted that automated systems improved the ability to build trust, partnership, and certainty with the tax community.

He also mentioned ongoing efforts to develop qualified human resources capable of operating advanced electronic systems to serve the tax community, emphasizing the establishment of robust communication channels to clearly explain incentive-driven reforms.
