ESC Participates in the Zhejiang-Africa Industry and Infrastructure Chain Matchmaking Conference

Jinhua: Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) Office in Shanghai, led by Minister Plenipotentiary (Commercial) Iman Hussein, took part in the proceedings of the Zhejiang-Africa Industry and Infrastructure Chain Matchmaking Conference. The event was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, under the theme "Building Together, Winning the Future."

According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference was organized by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the Jinhua Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the Zhejiang Overseas Investment Enterprises Association. Its primary aim was to enhance industrial and infrastructure cooperation between Zhejiang Province and African countries, and to develop joint industrial chains based on the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, which contributes to mutual and sustainable development.

The conference witnessed significant participation from representatives of African embassies and consulates in China, several central Chinese companies and Zhejiang enterprises operating in Africa, as well as investment and financial institutions, trade bodies, and professional service organizations. Notable participants included entities such as the China-Africa Development Fund, China-Africa TEDA Investment Company, and China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE).

Chinese officials highlighted during the sessions the increasing role of Zhejiang province in fostering economic partnerships with Africa. They focused on areas such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and e-commerce, positioning the province as a major hub for investment and trade exchange in China.

The conference concluded by underscoring the importance of bolstering industrial partnerships between China and African countries and expanding cooperation in infrastructure, e-commerce, green energy, and logistics. This expansion aims to achieve sustainable development and mutual benefit for both sides.
