El-Sisi Honors October War Heroes During Armed Forces’ 42nd Cultural Symposium

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday, October 19, 2025, honored heroes of the October 6, 1973 War during the 42nd Cultural Symposium. The event was organized by the Armed Forces in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the October 1973 War victory. The symposium took place at Al Manara International Conference Center.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the honored individuals included Major General Ahmed Samir Mohamed Mohamed Hassan Ayyat. He served as Operations Chief of the 233rd commando battalion during the war, contributing to ambush and raid operations against Israeli positions. President El-Sisi also honored Major General Hani Mohamed Rizq Mansour from the 252nd Tank Battalion of the 24th Armored Brigade. He played a role in operations aimed at destroying Israel's command centers deep in Sinai.
