The discussion, held in Kuala Lumpur, highlighted Egypt's pivotal role in seeking a Gaza ceasefire and facilitating aid to Palestinians.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Mufti Ayad conveyed President Sisi's greetings and aspirations for Malaysia's advancement during the meeting. The mufti characterized Egypt-Malaysia relations as exemplary, underscoring cooperation rooted in mutual respect and a shared dedication to dialogue and peace. Plans for training and knowledge-sharing between religious institutions in Egypt and Malaysia were also discussed.
The meeting also explored the establishment of a representative office of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide in Malaysia, aimed at training scholars and supporting family stability programs. Prime Minister Anwar acknowledged Egypt's religious leadership, praising Al-Azhar and Dar al-Ifta as influential centers of Islamic thought and expressed Malaysia's interest in leveraging their expertise and modern technological approaches to religious matters.
