Egypt’s Higher Education Minister Visits Canadian International College

Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ayman Ashour, visited the Canadian International College (CIC) in Fifth Settlement, as announced by the Cabinet in a statement.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ashour emphasized the progress made in Egypt's higher education sector over the past decade under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He highlighted the vital role that universities and institutes play in promoting comprehensive development across the nation.

In Egypt, there are 185 private higher institutes accommodating nearly one million students, which are crucial to the country's education system. Ashour stated that the ministry is focused on enhancing the quality of education by updating curricula to align with global standards and placing a strong emphasis on practical skills for graduates.

Ashour mentioned that the ministry's plan to elevate the role of private institutes is in line with Egypt's Vision 2030. This plan concentrates on developing practical skills, which are essential for success in the labour market, and aims to provide integrated academic programmes in collaboration with various industry sectors.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline within the educational process, fostering effective communication between faculty and students, and increasing extracurricular, cultural, and athletic activities to support student development.
