Egypt’s Banks to Close on September 4 to Mark Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

Cairo: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has announced that all banks across the nation will be closed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. This closure was confirmed in a Cabinet statement issued on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, banking operations are set to resume on Sunday, September 7, 2025. This applies to both public and private sector banks throughout the country.
